On Saturday we played the Dampier Sharks and the night started off well with our reserves team dominating. We came out firing scoring 4 goals to 1 in the first quarter and that’s all the Sharks could manage for the rest of the game. With the run through the midfield of Jordan Perkusich, Chad Crudeli and Mat Nowotny the boys were moving the ball around well. The second quarter was won easily as the boys piled on 8 goals to none helped by Mudge and Moogs who kicked 8 and 3 goals respectively. With a handy 70 point lead at half time the game was more then over as the boys continued to coast through the 3rd quarter kicking another 6 goals to 2 points. The boys were playing really well and after there efforts the week before Old boy didn’t want them to let up and demanded they keep working hard until the end. The last quarter had the boys pile on another 6 which could have been more except for some inaccurate kicking. The game consisted of some U/18s on the way up in Dylan Foster-Reed (Muddy) and Ryan Patching, the 2 boys have taken huge steps in recent weeks and are really starting to find there feet in the reserves as they start to feel comfortable and back there speed and skills. If they keep improving they may yet push for senior selection before the season is out.

After the disappointing loss last week to the swans the league side was keen to put a solid 4 quarter game together, which they did. The first quarter they came out of the blocks hard kicking 5 goals to 1 with Gav Jacks and Micky F really dominating through the middle. The second quarter was just as solid with hard running and good skills helping the boys to a good 40 point lead at half time. The boys new the sharks would never go away and after a 3goals burst from the sharks after half time it looked like they might work there way back into it. However the boys stood strong and regained the ascendancy kicking the next 5 goals for the quarter. Sharp shooters in the forward line Sully and Breno were kicking goals from everywhere with sully finishing the game with 7 straight and Breno with 4. With such a big lead at 3 quarter time it could have been easy to let the foot off but the boys wanted to show a 4 quarter effort and really made sure they kicked away in the last. The boys managed 6 goals to 2 in the last thanks to Simsy with 4 goals for the night, and the run of the newly named ‘midget brigade’ Dan Hill and Lez Van-Le up forward and through the middle.

It is my great pleasure to welcome Josh Giles to the 100 club this weekend. On the way too reaching this milestone Josh has contributed to his club by being a valued member of numerous committees, playing in many premiership teams, but most off all doing what was needed around the club when he was under no obligation to do so. His actions speak volumes on what a great clubman he is. Josh, is also another I believe, when he achieves the right accreditation, can take on a coaching role at his club, once he puts his mind to a task he leaves no stone unturned to achieve success, this I have witnessed firsthand. As we are playing a team that improves in volumes at home, this weekend, I hope our best teams are on the bus to make Josh’s 100th game a memorable one and we win both grades. Once again I am away and will not be present at your milestone game but congratulate you on reaching 100 games, and I am sure you will give a great account in your game this weekend Go the Falcons Stephen Martyn President

The league saw one of the fieriest derby’s for a long time with multiple melees throughout the game. The first quarter started with the boys coming out strong holding the ball in the forward half for most of the quarter. However we failed to make the K*@ts pay kicking only 4.6 for the quarter, with the K*@ts managing 2.1. The second quarter we started strongly again with the attack on the ball never wavering and out stronger side winning out with the K*@ts getting to scared to pick up the ball at stages and leaving it for us to run away with. Our forwards managed to find the big sticks kicking 5.2 giving us a 41 point lead at half time thanks to the excellent work from our back men. There was a number of melees throughout the match especially late in the 2

Congratulations to Mick who played a great game for his 100th especially in front of a huge number of family and friends who watched Mick play through the early days up till now. His dad was also able to toss the coin before the game which made the event all the more special for the club and hopefully Mick to.

The reserves game was a very one sided game with the K@*ts not offering much of a challenge. The boys had all the run and skill throughout the game with the backline doing an excellent job of holding the K@*ts off. The 1st quarter was the closest with the score at quarter time reading 4.4 to 2.1 but the rest of the game became a blow out thanks to the work of Mudge, Josh Giles, Barra and Chad Crudeli. The second half was well won and the boys had a comfortable 38 point lead at half time. The boys just rolled on after half time proving way to good for the K@*ts ina good team effort around the ground. Once again some inaccurate kicking was preventing a massive blow out. Fly in fly out footballer Kane “Noodles” McKay was enjoying being back on the park kicking a couple of goals and providing good run. Barra is also starting to find some form after a slow preseason working hard off the wing as well. The 3 quarter time score was 79 to 18 with the K@*ts having not scored a goal since the first quarter. The boys didn’t let up in the last quarter out scoring them again to run out very comfortable winners in a good team performance.

This year is a remarkable year for milestones, and another is the Clubs Premiership Captain.

Yes MICHAEL FORMANCZYK plays his 100th game for his Club. Like me you may be surprised he hasn’t reached this milestone a long time ago. Arguably he is one of the best players this club has ever had. Michael is the only player to have won the most best and fairest awards for the NPFL league, numerous best and fairest awards for his club and is a leader like no other over a number of years. Being  President and being able to witness his most prized award the Premiership Medal as Captain, was a highlight for both of us. Michael is like no other champion his natural talent, his competitive nature, also led him to a stint at Swan Districts in Perth. On his return he has been a shining light at the Club involved in all things Football and also helping out were needed. .

When he has the right credentials I can see him going to hold the top coaching job also. I apologize to you Michael for not being able to be present on the day you reach this milestone as I will be away, but know all at the club will rally to make sure we crush our cross town rivals on your 100th game.

Once again congratulations and may you go on to play many more games for your club.

Go the Falcons
