CLUB NEWS 40 Year Honour Board

The Karratha Falcons Football Club would like to thank the City of Karratha and the North West Shelf Project for the Quarterly Grant Scheme. This grant has supported the new installation of our club honour board in the Frank Butler Pavilion Foyer.

The Falcons Football club celebrated 40 years in 2018. Established in 1979 by Frank Butler, the club was known originally as the Cardinals. The gala night was attended by 160 people including foundation members, players and volunteers as well as current members and supporters.
The establishment of our first ever honour board proved to be the highlight of the evening and was very well received. This honour board showcases the club's history for all to appreciate and instilled a great sense of belonging and pride for all members and supporters.
Football clubs are considered the hub of a community, particularly in rural and regional areas, are a focal point for community efforts in times of crisis and celebration, and are considered by club and community members as central to shaping the identity of a community .A football club's reach is significant and extends beyond its players, coaches, administrators and volunteers; for every player, football clubs reach 10 people in their community, generating increased civic pride. This project has greatly assisted with instilling a sense of pride for the club and wider community.
