LEAGUE Falcons 21.6 def Sharks 7.10.

The League rested players Layton Cooper, Dayne Corps, Gavin Jacks, Bryce Acreman &
Cody Hancock but we still fielded a strong side and were dominate in the first quarter
with a 7 straight goal display. Ash Milligan was hard at the ball from go to woa and made
a spectacular leap for a mark on the western wing in the first. [surprised he didn’t give
away a free as he didn’t managed to come down with the ball] We suffered a major
setback with Brenton Smythe breaking his collarbone badly in the first and will lose
Brenno for the rest of the season.

Quarter time saw the score Falcons 7.0 to Sharks 1.3. The second quarter was a more
even affair with the Sharks manning up and making the Falcons boys accountable in
each and every contest . Ash Milligan combined with Mick F-Z and Vic Bellotti to feed
the ball into our forward line which saw Dan Fuller kick his 4th before halftime. We
even saw centre half back Cameron Ling kick his first goal for the season after a run
along the western wing. Half time scores were Falcons 12.2 to Sharks 5.4.

The second half saw Falcons lift the tempo with our centre line working well, the ruck
feeding the ball into the forwards resulting in Mick F-Z, Crudda, Sully and Rooney all
kicking goals. Our defence was excellent and impenetrable keeping Sharks to one point
kicked at the 24 minute mark. Third quarter time saw the score at Falcons 16.4 to Shark
s 5.5. With a 10 goal lead going into the last quarter, Falcons kept up the work rate and
finished the game strongly to run out winners Falcons 21.6 to Sharks 7.10.

Great game to Dan Fuller who marked the slippery ball consistently and ended up with a
6 goal haul, Sully kicked 3 and handed of at least another 3, 2 each to Macca, Mick and
Cam Nowotny. Ash Gill made a solid return to the league side along with MJ returning
from a broken bone in his foot.

RESERVES: Falcons 11.5 to Sharks 6.6.

This was a top of the ladder clash with Falcons needing to win to secure second spot so
we could have the double final at home. Dampier had not played a game for the past 5
weeks due to two forfeits and 2 byes so went into the game lacking match practice.
The first quarter was an even affair with the ball going between backlines for  most of
the quarter and resulting in Falcons forward Brett Cappa kicking our only 2 goals.
Quarter time score was Falcons 2.2 to Sharks 0.2. The second quarter saw Sharks start
to exert some pressure across the ground and kept us goalless while kicking 3 to go in
at halftime with a 6 point lead. Falcons 2.3 to Sharks 3.3. The third quarter saw the
Falcons boys dominate with a 6 goal quarter to go to three quarter time Falcons 8.5 to
Sharks 4.3.
The last quarter was hard fought with our defence getting more work in this quarter
than for the whole game. Fantastic mark to AJ in the last quarter in front of the benches
and the final score was Falcons 11.5 to Sharks 6.6. This win sets up a rematch at home
for the Falcons in two weeks.

Westy went onto the ball and produced some great work across the centre, and with
Brett Cappa [4 goals] and Adrian Third [3 goals] proving too big and strong in our
forward line we were convincing winners on .
